Job Title

A Clinical Psychologist role has become available in Limerick, working with children and families.


About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team. The role involves assessment, diagnosis, and intervention, as well as providing clinical guidance and contributing to service planning and delivery in line with the Progressing Disability Services (PDS) framework.


Key Responsibilities

* Plan and manage a varied caseload, including individual and group assessments and interventions.
* Monitor performance targets and maintain accurate clinical statistics.
* Provide psychology services in line with service plans and national policies.
* Contribute to service development and delivery through innovation and collaboration.
* Provide supervision and support to clinical and educational psychology trainees as required.


Clinical Practice & Standards

* Deliver evidence-based assessments and interventions tailored to children with complex needs.
* Maintain high standards of documentation and data protection in accordance with national legislation and service policies.
* Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and the interdisciplinary team within a Family-Centred Practice model.
* Contribute to risk management and uphold health and safety standards in all areas of service delivery.
* Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development in line with PSI requirements.


Communication & Collaboration

* Communicate effectively across a range of formats (verbal, written, electronic) with families, team members, and external stakeholders.
* Provide consultation, training, and support to team members, parents, and other professionals.
* Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and service development initiatives.


Leadership & Innovation

* Provide leadership within the psychology service and support team-based decision-making.
* Contribute to quality improvement and service planning activities.
* Inspire high standards of care and professionalism within the team.
* Take initiative to trial and implement new service ideas and approaches.


Essential Criteria

* Recognised qualification in Psychology.
* Full registration (or eligibility) with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
* Minimum three years post-graduate clinical experience, including work with children.
* Proven experience in developmental and cognitive assessments.
* Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and liaise across services.
* High standard of professional ethics and clinical judgement.


Desirable Criteria

* Experience conducting diagnostic assessments including ADOS and ADI-R.
* Experience delivering Team Assessments and Assessments of Need.
* Experience delivering parent training programmes and group workshops.
* Strong understanding of the psychologists' role in disability services.
