As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing our network services as we continue to expand rapidly across all our platforms. This role requires an innovative and strategic thinker who can lead a team of skilled Network Engineers in optimizing network architecture for automation, innovation, and operation.
We are looking for someone who can drive operational excellence by defining safe processes, automating tasks, and supporting internal customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving network changes, developing a detailed understanding of network issues, and representing those issues at operational management review meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence in everything we do, define operationally safe processes, automation to improve efficiency in day-to-day tasks and projects, and support internal customers to ensure their needs and issues are addressed.
* Technical Leadership: Review and approve network changes and processes for the team; develop a detailed, low-level understanding of network issues when needed and represent those issues at operational management review meetings.
* Network Measurement: Drive quality into the metrics we report to focus on areas that provide the best ROI, including measurement of defects, network capacity and cycle times.
* Performance Management/Team Health: Own all facets of performance and career development for the team; conduct regular one-on-one meetings; provide technical and soft skill mentoring.
* Recruiting and Hiring: Lead hiring of quality personnel, coordinate with Amazon and external recruiting staff, participate in initial phone screens and provide guidance during on-site interview loops; ensure proper training and onboarding for new hires.
