Senior Resident Engineer *Location: Inis Oirr (Aran Islands) 18 month contract* Senior Resident Engineer - Marine (Inis Orr Project) required to join a leading, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with offices across Ireland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Resident Engineer to take on a high-profile leadership role delivering a flagship marine infrastructure project in a unique island setting.
The successful candidate will play a key role as part of the site leadership team, overseeing the delivery of the Inis Orr Pier Improvements Design & Build Project, while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and environmental compliance.

Sample projects: Major marine infrastructure Pier improvements project (Inis Orr) Bridge, coastal and marine civil engineering works Projects in environmentally sensitive locations Public sector infrastructure projects Design & Build civil engineering works exceeding €2 M in value You will ideally have experience in the following: A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (Level 8 or equivalent Minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience in civil engineering works, with at least 5 years site-based experience Proven experience as a Senior Resident Engineer (or equivalent) on civil engineering projects Experience supervising marine-based projects with a construction value exceeding €2 million Strong knowledge and experience administering Public Works Contracts Experience in environmentally sensitive projects and environmental compliance Experience reviewing contractor claims, payment applications and technical submissions Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder management abilities Experience with Construction Environmental Management Plans / Environmental Operating Plans Must hold a current CIF IOSH Safety for Construction Managers qualification (or equivalent) Desirable: Chartered Engineer status (CEng MIEI or equivalent) Proficiency in spoken Gaeilge Safe Pass certification Experience liaising with harbour authorities / Commissioners of Irish Lights Benefits Salary €70k €100k DOE Pension Life Assurance (Death in Service benefit) Fully covered accommodation on Inis Orr Annual island living allowance Mobile phone and laptop provided Mileage covered for travel to mainland (via Clare or Galway ferry routes) Flexibility in working hours Opportunity for extended involvement during defects period If you are a Senior Resident Engineer looking for your next career move, send your CV or contact Alice Condon for a confidential discussion.
