About the Cogito Administrator role

As a Cogito Administrator for an Epic system, you will configure, maintain, and optimize the Cogito reporting databases to align with the environment strategy. This includes capacity planning, monitoring database size and health, and creating plans for statistics and index maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Successfully complete job training, including Epic certification, within six months and keep certifications up to date
* Configure and maintain Cogito databases according to the environment strategy
* Engage in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources
* Monitor performance metrics, understand system performance, and troubleshoot issues
* Manage logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration
* Apply RDMS upgrades and updates to production and non-production environments
* Perform database backups and verify restores
* Participate in Change Control processes for all planned applications and technical activities
* Communicate Epic database changes to necessary teams across the enterprise
* Work closely with other databases, environment/infrastructure and internal/external enterprise security teams
* Provide on-call support for production performance/availability or other critical issues
Required Qualifications:
* Degree Qualified in a relevant field (Data Science or STEM subject) or equivalent experience
* Working knowledge of database operating systems
* Technically experienced in MS SQL Server analytical database platforms
* Able to create, understand, and follow processes to ensure successful execution of critical maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working with Epic Systems
* RDBMS Certification preferably Microsoft SQL Server
