This role will lead proactive and reactive sales efforts for meetings, conferences, weddings, and events. The Conference Event Manager will develop the hotel's conference and corporate events portfolio, maximizing sales and conversion, and ensuring seamless delivery through effective handover to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three Event Sales Executives, ensuring high performance and professional growth across weddings, conferences, and events.
* Foster a collaborative, sales-driven culture that delivers results and exceptional client service.
Sales & Business Development
* Drive conference and corporate event sales at the hotel, developing this segment in partnership with Cluster Business Development Managers.
* Proactively manage relationships with local corporate clients, event planners, and key stakeholders.
* Ensure reciprocal cross-selling opportunities between the hotel and its partners are maximized.
* Respond to all event, wedding, and conference enquiries within an 8-hour SLA, optimizing conversion and yield.
* Attend and/or arrange staffing for trade shows, conferences, showcases, and networking events to build relationships, generate leads, and promote the hotel's event offerings, ensuring a positive brand presence and staying current with industry trends.
Commercial Strategy
* Contribute to product development and pricing strategies for meetings and events (F&B, room hire, packages).
* Collaborate with the Revenue Manager to agree annual pricing strategies for rooms in the events segment and handle ad-hoc negotiations for large enquiries.
* Work with the Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing to review pipeline, identify gaps, and implement proactive strategies to achieve targets.
Client & Event Lifecycle Management
* Ensure accurate event detailing in Opera and timely production of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
* Maintain clear communication with operations, ensuring seamless handover from sales to delivery.
* Attend pre-conference meetings and greet key conference clients onsite to build relationships and ensure satisfaction.
* Follow up post-event to measure satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat business.
Reporting & Administration
* Track, analyse, and report on sales activity, conversion, and pipeline performance.
* Provide regular updates to the Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing and General Manager on sales progress and targets.
* Conduct market research to identify local trends and competitor activity, adjusting strategies accordingly.
