With group turnover in excess of €200m, the business operates from offices in Cork, London, Edinburgh and Limerick.

SUMMARY OF ROLE:
Due to the continued growth and development of the Group, CField is seeking to appoint a Finance Director to lead the finance function across it's Irish and UK businesses.
The Finance Director will be a key member of the Leadership Team reporting directly to the CEO.
The role will have full oversight and responsibility for the finance function across the group including financial strategy, governance, control, reporting, planning, compliance, cash management, commercial support and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Shareholders, CEO, MD's and Leadership Teams in both jurisdictions to support decision-making, strengthen financial governance and improve reporting and controls across the Group.
The role is primarily Cork based with travel to UK and Irish offices as required.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Fully qualified Accountant with Senior Management Finance experience
Strong knowledge of technical accounting & financial principles, processes and practices
Familiarity with VAT, CT, RCT and CIS
Knowledge of construction financial drivers including WIP, retentions, CVRs and job costing
Strong leadership, people management and organisational skills
Drive to continuously improve systems, processes and self
Ability to build excellent working relationships with a wide range of people
Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
Proactive with strong problem-solving ability
Enthusiastic and driven to succeed with a 'Can Do' attitude
Commercially astute, pragmatic and solutions focused

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and develop the Group finance function, strategy and governance across the Irish and UK businesses, ensuring high standards of performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
Act as principal financial advisor to the CEO, Board and Shareholders.
Ensure robust financial governance, internal controls and risk management across all group entities.
Maintain a "no surprises" culture through proactive communication and insight.
Provide the shareholders, CEO and MD's with clear, accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis and insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Own the Group's budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial planning processes across both jurisdictions.
Oversee the preparation of management accounts, KPI's, performance analysis, board packs, year-end financial statements, audit files and statutory reporting requirements.
Lead the annual external audit process and maintain strong relationships with auditors, advisors, banks and other external stakeholders.
Cash, Treasury & Banking
Lead treasury management, banking relationships, intercompany, cash utilisation, facilities, covenants, funding and foreign exchange considerations where relevant.
Liaise closely with the CEO, MD's and Commercial Directors in the management of insurance, bonding facilities, guarantees, risk management, debt collection and wider financial risk controls.
Tax & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with all relevant tax, VAT, CT, payroll and regulatory obligations across Ireland and the UK, including construction sector requirements such as RCT and CIS.
Ensure all statutory filings and regulatory requirements are met accurately and on time
Monitor changes in accounting standards and tax legislation and assess Group impact
Commercial & Operational Support
Partner closely with operational and commercial leaders to improve job cost reporting, working capital management, margin visibility, project financial controls and overall commercial performance.
Provide commercial and strategic support to senior management on business growth, investment decisions, process efficiencies and performance improvement initiatives.
Provide insight and challenge on cost control, overheads and profitability.
Finance Function Leadership
Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, creating a high-performance culture aligned to the Group's values and long-term ambitions.
Build a strong succession plan and talent pipeline within the finance function.
Strengthen and continuously improve financial systems, internal controls, policies, processes and governance frameworks across the Group.
Establish an environment of continuous improvement and learning, encouraging employee development, engagement and team cohesion across the Finance team.
Develop an in-depth understanding of the capabilities of current accounting / finance systems and ensure that the capabilities are maximised, systems are administered effectively and are operating efficiently.
