A leading organisation in the renewable energy sector is seeking to appoint an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Specialist on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and Appropriate Assessments (AA/Natura Impact Statements) for a portfolio of large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the
EIA process for major renewable energy developments, including full responsibility for EIAR and AA/NIS delivery
* Provide expert environmental input to support project planning, development strategy, and regulatory compliance
* Monitor and interpret changes in planning and environmental legislation and policy, contributing to internal guidance and external submissions where required
* Support stakeholder engagement activities, including coordination of consultation with local communities and statutory bodies
* Prepare scopes and specifications for third-party environmental services and support procurement and tender processes
* Ensure all activities are delivered in line with health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements
* Contribute to performance management objectives and support the mentoring and development of junior team members, particularly in EIA and AA processes
What We're Looking For
* Honours Degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
* Postgraduate qualification (Level 9) in a relevant field desirable
* Minimum 5 years' experience leading EIAR and AA/NIS for large-scale projects
* Strong knowledge of the Irish EIA process, planning system, and environmental legislation
* Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary EIA teams
* Background in renewables, infrastructure, or strategic development projects advantageous
* Technical expertise in an EIA-related discipline (e.g. ecology, noise, air quality) desirable
