We're currently looking for an experienced and passionate baker to join our team. This is a key role for someone who not only understands the craft of bread making but is also excited about contributing ideas and helping us develop new products — while ensuring the smooth running of daily production.
We are seeking an experienced Baker to join their team for the morning/day shift. This role will co-ordinate the activities required to produce safe, quality products to agreed quantities and deadlines in a hygienic environment. The function of this shift is to ensure that all bread is crafted and baked with care to the required standard set by the quality and production departments.
The successful candidate will be required to work approximately 20hrs up to 40hrs on some weeks, including Sundays, usually over 3 to 5 days.
The day shift is from 7.00am to 3.00pm approx. but can start earlier or later depending on weekly demand. Some degree of flexibility will be required for this reason but rosters will be created weekly for the following week and shared with staff.

* Proven experience in bread baking, ideally in a commercial or manufacturing environment
* Strong understanding of the full baking process: weighing up, mixing, proving, baking
* Familiarity with food safety standards — BRCGS knowledge is a strong advantage

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
* Managing daily bread production to meet quality and quantity targets
* Following recipes and procedures with precision and consistency
* Maintaining hygiene and food safety standards at all times
* Collaborating with the team on new product development
* Operating and maintaining bakery equipment safely and efficiently
* Mixing ingredients and scaling dough.
* Operating bakery machinery and ovens.
* Following procedures and recipes, and completing relevant paperwork for traceability.
* Performing manual handling duties safely and efficiently throughout the day.
* Cleaning equipment and utensils daily.
* Fit in to a team environment and contribute to the team's high performance
* Comply with company Health & Safety procedures and waste control.
* Support, interact and participate in all relevant company projects.
* Contribute to a positive working environment where staff are motivated to work as a team to produce quality products on a consistent basis.
Key Skills and Experience required:
* Bakery experience or food production experience essential.
* Excellent attention to detail and high personal standards.
* High standard of work and excellent work ethic.

* Strong time management skills.
* Flexible and adaptable to change.
* High level of motivation to produce high quality produce.
* Goal orientated.
* Knowledge of HACCP and BRC desirable.
* Good numeracy skills essential.
* Good physical fitness (position will require lifting loads above shoulder level and below knee level)
Food industry experience or experience in a similar role is essential.
