About the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Leading and managing a local team of bridge engineering professionals.
* Driving business development and managing tender bids for professional services contracts.
* Conducting short, medium, and long-term resource planning to ensure project success.
* Providing design input and overseeing the delivery of structural aspects of projects.
* Managing medium and large-sized projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are delivered.
* Effectively communicating with internal and external parties, including clients and stakeholders.
* Mentoring and developing junior team members.
* Assisting in undertaking the duties of the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP).
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* Minimum 15 years of experience as Bridge / Senior Bridge Engineer, with at least 10 years of experience on Irish projects post-graduation.
* Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and a hardworking attitude, with a flexible approach.
* Proven ability to lead projects from a technical perspective.
* Experience in client-facing roles with excellent communication skills.
* Previous staff management experience.
* A proactive approach with a track record of delivering high-quality services to clients in both the public and private sectors.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in bridge design, inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation.
* Proficiency in Eurocodes and structural analysis software (MIDAS Civil or LUSAS).
* Experience in the design and refurbishment of concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
* Proven experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
* Ireland and/or UK experience.
