We are seeking a Laboratory Technician I on a defined term (12 months) basis to join our team.
Job Purpose:
To perform routine analytical testing as assigned and accurately document test results, ensuring compliance with all quality system and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
* Understand and comply with all regulations governing quality systems (including ISO 17025 for accredited laboratories).
* Deliver key quality and performance objectives.
* Conduct testing according to written procedures, including raw material, in-process, and finished product testing in the analytical laboratory.
* Collect, compile, analyze data, and prepare laboratory reports.
* Ensure all notebooks, logbooks, and worksheets are completed and reviewed promptly.
* Record all information and raw data only on designated forms, logbooks, or via appropriate systems.
* Assist manufacturing, operations, and quality teams in resolving quality-related issues.
* Document and report NCEs, laboratory investigations, and out-of-specification results to Laboratory Management.
* Ensure equipment, standards, and other materials are approved and released prior to use.
* Perform cleaning, preventive maintenance, and verification of instruments and equipment as required.
* Complete all training as per the Laboratory Training Program.
* Support internal and external audits.
* Communicate concerns regarding environmental impact, health, or safety issues to management.
* Maintain compliance with GMP, GLP, and GDP to ensure quality in all work aspects.
* Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor.
* Identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
Education & Experience:
* NQF Level 6 (120 Credits) or above in a STEM discipline.
* Experience and product knowledge in analytical labs are required.
