THE POSITION Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and forming part of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Service South and West will provide strategic leadership and oversight to a services team comprising Directors of Services and Service Managers. This role ensures the ongoing strategic development of services while maintaining the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality care. The Head of Service South and West will collaborate with the HSE and other agencies, leading and influencing national strategy and policy frameworks within the disability sector. The role involves negotiating and managing service arrangements with the HSE, ensuring regulatory and legislative compliance, and overseeing financial management within the assigned region. The Head of Service South and West will lead a team of up to 895 employees, delivering services to approximately 6,000 service users. They will demonstrate strengths in interpersonal understanding, business and financial acumen, organisational impact, and strategic leadership. REQUIREMENTS Suitably qualified and interested candidates will be operating at Director level or in an equivalent senior management role, with an exemplary track record in operational leadership, team management, and business transformation or large-scale change/project management. Experience within a large not-for-profit, public sector organisation, or a private health or social care service provider is essential. Applicants must have a practical understanding of the delivery of disability services, HSE service arrangements, HIQA regulations, and Irish public sector funding within the voluntary disability sector. Core competencies required to be successful in this pivotal role include: strategic vision; leadership; managing relationships; critical thinking and decision making; change management; communication and influencing; business and financial acumen.
