Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled and hands-on IT Infrastructure & Data Centre Operations Engineer to support both ongoing operational tasks in an active data centre and the buildout of a new pharmaceutical manufacturing site. This role involves a mix of physical infrastructure support, hardware deployment, and participation in a construction-phase environment, requiring a practical, detail-oriented approach within a regulated industry setting. Key Responsibilities: Provide daily operational support in a live data centre, including: Server racking and cable management Hardware diagnostics and BIOS-level troubleshooting Support the setup of IT infrastructure at a new site, including 4 IDF/VDER areas. Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (switches, access points) and structured cabling systems (patch panels, racks). Supervise and coordinate work performed by third-party contractors during installation and commissioning. Perform BIOS/UEFI configuration and hardware validation on servers and infrastructure equipment. Assist with VLAN setup, network segmentation, and port mapping in collaboration with network architects. Maintain accurate documentation for cabling layouts, rack elevations, and network diagrams. Ensure all activities meet GMP compliance and align with project, validation, and IS team requirements. Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years of hands-on infrastructure experience in a data centre or high-availability environment. Proficient in: Switch and wireless access point setup Structured cabling, patching, and rack installation BIOS-level server configuration and diagnostics Experience in IT deployments for new site construction or lab/office buildouts. Strong understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, segmentation). Comfortable working independently, managing vendors, and performing onsite physical tasks. Familiarity with GMP environments and pharmaceutical or regulated industry standards. Ability to interpret and mark up Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) or red-line drawings. Knowledge of: MEP systems and construction sequencing for IT deployment BICSI Class F3, ISO, or BS cabling standards Tools (preferred but not required): Cormant DCIM, RF-Code, or DC asset tracking systems.
