Harrington Group are now recruiting for Plant Operatives based in our Castlebar & Sligo Quarries.
The successful candidates will be required to be flexible in the role and location to ensure adequate cover in place for our various depots.
Key Objective: As a Plant Operative, you will consult with our Quarry Manager and Dispatch Team to ensure Harrington products are ready for distribution.
You will assist and support in the movement of products around the site and final load of products for dispatch.
Duties and Responsibilities: Operation of a range of heavy plant machinery including, but not limited to, Dumpers, Loading Shovels etc.
Performance of all tasks per health, safety and quality standards.
Ensuring work area is kept clean and clutter/hazard free.
Completion of other reasonable tasks which may be assigned.
Responsible for daily plant maintenance and ongoing predictive and preventative maintenance.
Maintain regular communication with dispatch office to provide excellent service to customers.
Liaising with other production operations to ensure a timely supply of raw materials.
The Ideal Candidate: Prior experience in operating heavy plant vehicles and lifting equipment an advantage.
Prior experience in movement of heavy loads an advantage.
Prior experience working in Construction.
Knowledge of precast lifting and movement processes an advantage.
Enthusiastic and motivated with a willingness to learn.
Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
Flexibility of duties and working hours.
Awareness and respect for health and safety rules and procedures.
Keen attention to detail.
Proven record of good timekeeping and attendance.
Knowledge / Skills/ Experience Minimum of 1 years' Heavy plant driving experience.
Artic Dumper Ticket & Loading Shovel Ticket.
Clean relevant Driver's License.
Valid Tickets for Heavy Plant essential Valid Safe Pass (preferred) Able to effectively communicate clearly with operatives and managers Able to update self-knowledge by training as required and be health & safety aware.
Able to communicate and be fluent in English (written and spoken) Ability to work on own initiative or with a team and to strict deadlines.
