Job Title: Head Chef Location: The Maryborough Hotel The Role Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Head Chef will play a key leadership role within our award-winning culinary team.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene are consistently achieved.
You'll oversee the kitchen teams, support menu innovation, and ensure efficient operations while fostering a collaborative and professional kitchen culture.

Your Responsibilities Lead and manage the kitchen team across all sections.
Assist the Executive Chef with menu development, cost control, and supplier relationships.
Supervise food preparation and service to maintain high quality and consistency.
Ensure full compliance with HACCP and all food safety regulations.
Train, coach, and support junior chefs to reach their potential.
Manage inventory, stock control, and kitchen scheduling.
Uphold a strong team ethic and positive working environment.
What We're Looking For 3–5 years' experience in a senior kitchen position (Sous Chef or above).
Fine dining experience is a must.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Deep knowledge of food trends, seasonal produce, and kitchen operations.
Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Full-time availability (5 days over 7, including weekends).
