Overview
Murphy is recruiting for a Mechanical Supervisor to work with our Natural Resources team in an Oil Refinery in East Cork.
We maintain, operate, modify, design, construct and commission new energy networks and facilities across four countries; guiding our customers through the challenges of the energy transition and supporting their commitments to achieve net zero emissions.
We provide safe and reliable specialist services as a trusted Engineering, Procure, Fabrication, Maintain and Decommissioning (EPFCM&D) partner.
This includes work with onshore and offshore oil, gas pipelines, gas diversions and renewable energies.
Main Purpose Of Role
The Mechanical Supervisor role involves supervising mechanical operatives and subcontractors carrying out pipework installation, modification and repair works, ensuring all activities are completed in accordance with project specifications, permit-to-work requirements and Murphy safety standards.
The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for planning daily activities, monitoring progress against programme, maintaining high workmanship standards and promoting a strong safety culture while liaising closely with site management and client representatives to ensure works are delivered efficiently and without impact to client operations.
What You Will Be Doing
Undertake and manage pipefitting activities, overseeing and coordinating the onsite workforce.
Demonstrate experience in valve installation, bolting, large-bore piping, and small-bore tubing works.
Ability to work from ISO drawings.
Clearly define expectations with onsite team.
Ensure all works are carried out safely, to agreed timescales, and in accordance with required quality standards and specification.
Who We Are Looking For
Suitably qualified in mechanical fitting, Torque/Tensioning, Tubing, etc.
Proven on-site experience.
Ability to follow, interpret and explain technical instructions.
Previous Pipe Fitting and mechanical install Experience.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and ability to produce daily production report.
Previous experience working on Energy projects within the gas or oil industry (similar works in water or pharmaceutical would be considered).
