There will be occasional onsite presence required and therefore you should be able to get to site if required but the role can be conducted remotely so if you are based inside Ireland and have your own transport this would suffice.Contractor OpportunityRole Brief:In this role you will be responsible for the maintenance of an SQL Database that has expanded since deployment. You will work with an NNIT client to ensure that the database is maintained and enhanced where possible from an operational perspective.Core Tasks:Database MaintenancePerformance Monitoring & OptimizationData Backup & RecoveryTroubleshooting & SupportCapacity Planning & ScalabilitySecurity & Compliance (roles, permissions, encryption, auditing)High Availability (HA) & Disaster Recovery (design, testing & documentation)Upgrade & Patch Management (planned maintenance & version roadmap)Monitoring & Alerting (proactive monitoring, actionable alerts)Documentation & Knowledge Transfer (runbooks, training, processes)Skills Brief:Over 5 years of experience in an SQL database administration roleStrong experience of SQL database management functions with a particular emphasis onPerformance Monitoring and OptimizationBackup and recovery management and enhancementCapacity management and ensuring scalabilityHigh Availability (HA) and Disaster RecoveryUpgrade and patch managementExperience within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous but is not essentialStrong project management skillsA proven ability to work with a diverse range of technical and business stakeholdersPerson Brief:Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Technology or a related discipline with over 5 years' experience of Database Administration. Some experience within a manufacturing environment would be ideal but proven database management experience in other sectors will also be considered.The ideal candidate will have excellent collaboration and communication skills, strong attention to detail and an excellent understanding of validation concepts and documentation. He/she should also have proven ability to solve complex technical & equipment qualification challenges using a rational scientific approach.The candidate must be based in Ireland and if required be able to be onsite in Shannon however it is expected that much of the work will be possible to be conducted remotely.
