Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician (Fitter) – Nights to join our Maintenance Team. In this role you will play a key role in supporting the reliability, performance, and compliance of our manufacturing equipment and mechanical services.
The shift pattern will be Monday - Friday Nights, but flexibility around shifts is important in this role.
This role is focused on maintaining equipment uptime, supporting health and safety standards, ensuring quality and compliance, and helping drive continuous improvement across the business unit. You will work in a highly regulated environment where teamwork, technical expertise, and a proactive approach are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on mechanical services, plant, and equipment
Diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
Support improvements in machine and equipment effectiveness
Source and identify required spare parts for equipment and systems
Assist specialist vendors during preventative maintenance activities
Participate in FATs, commissioning, and qualification of new plant and equipment
Support the setup and optimisation of preventative maintenance routines
Contribute to risk assessments for tasks and equipment
Communicate concerns, issues, and process improvements to management
Resolve technical issues quickly and effectively to minimise downtime
Support continuous improvement initiatives such as MEP, OEE, OPEX, RCA, and productivity programs
Provide KPI tracking and reporting support for the Technical Team
Assist during regulatory and compliance audits
Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in line with health and safety requirements
Qualifications
rade-certified Mechanical Qualification
At least 4 years of maintenance and troubleshooting experience in a highly automated production environment
Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and automation systems
Experience working in a GMP or other regulated environment
Proven problem-solving, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
Ability to read, analyse, and interpret technical data, procedures, and specifications
Strong documentation and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Willingness to work overtime and shift patterns as required
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or aseptic processing environments is an advantage
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and mechanical specifications
Experience maintaining electromechanical manufacturing equipment
Machining and welding experience would be beneficial
