JOB PURPOSE/MAIN PURPOSETo undertake a range of responsibilities including cleaning, laundry, kitchen tasks, and basic resident care to provide a high standard of care in order to meet the needs of the residents. The General Assistant/Kitchen Assistant will be able to organize their day to complete tasks efficiently and to the home's required standards. They will work flexibly within any area of the home as directed by the Person In Charge, Nurse-in-Charge, or Manager to provide support according to the home's needs.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDomestic / Cleaning Duties:Perform duties using work schedules to promote and maintain an environment that reflects a high standard of care delivery.Be aware of the working environment at all times and follow procedures to ensure the safety of residents, staff,visitors, and yourself.Be responsible for the safe and secure storage of domestic and cleaning products when not in use.Ensure all areas of the home are kept clean and tidy by damp dusting, dust control, mopping, vacuuming, and damp mopping.Be responsible for cleaning equipment, keeping it clean and free from damage, and reporting faults to the Nurse-in-Charge or Manager.Laundry Duties:Launder residents' clothing, carefully following garment care instructions.Ensure sufficient linen and towels are available at all times.Follow all Health & Safety, COSHH, and Infection Control procedures and observe personal duty of care in relation to equipment, resources, and procedures.Kitchen Assistant Duties:Assist with meal preparation under the supervision of qualified kitchen staff.Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes.Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, following food safety protocols.Wash dishes and cookware thoroughly.Replenish stocks and organize kitchen supplies.Set and clear tables for meals.Assist residents with dining, if required, following mealtime assistance protocols.General:Comply with company accident reporting procedures.Adhere to all company, statutory, and Health and Safety obligations.Attend training sessions to ensure effective performance of your role.Be aware of company policies, procedures, and practices, including Health & Safety, Fire Awareness, and Moving & Handling.Support and orient new staff members.Participate in quality audits.Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents.Report concerns raised by residents/relatives to the Nurse-in-Charge or Manager.Exercise efficiency and economy in using home resources.Undertake other duties as reasonably required for the home's operation.Report any potential hazards to the Nurse-in-Charge or Manager.Physical Effort:Moderate physical effort is required, such as maneuvering equipment, transferring laundry loads, and assisting residents with dining.Physical Skill:Developed physical skills are required for accuracy and speed, such as cleaning spills, transferring loads, and preparing food.Working Conditions:Frequent exposure to potentially unpleasant conditions, such as dealing with bodily fluids and cleaning spills.Confidentiality:Maintain strict confidentiality regarding resident information and company operations.Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PermanentPay: Up to €14.00 per hourLicence/Certification:work permit?
