We are recruiting Senior Occupational Therapists to join a large acute hospital service across:
* Acute General Medicine & Surgery
(permanent role)
* Inpatient Orthopaedics
(specified purpose role)
These roles offer the opportunity to work in
high-acuity inpatient services
, managing complex cases and discharges, and contributing to service development within a multidisciplinary team.
About the Roles:
Acute General Medicine & Surgery
* Covers specialties including Endocrinology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory, Oncology, and General Surgery
* Close collaboration with Discharge Planning and ICU OT specialists
* Focus on complex case management and pathway development
Inpatient Orthopaedics
* Trauma and elective orthopaedics, including Orthogeriatrics
* Requires experience in
splinting and specialist seating
* Involvement in service development projects, including an
Early Supported Discharge pilot
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a complex inpatient caseload, including assessment, treatment planning, and discharge
* Lead and support service development and quality improvement initiatives
* Supervise and support Basic Grade OTs, students, and therapy assistants
* Work closely with MDT colleagues across acute services
* Ensure high standards of clinical documentation and governance
* Contribute to education, training, audits, and research activities
Essential Criteria
* CORU registered
* BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (CORU-recognised)
* Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience
* Relevant acute or specialist experience
* Experience supervising staff or students
Desirable Experience
* Acute hospital setting
* Complex discharge planning and home/access visits
* Specialist seating, wheelchairs, or splinting
* Orthopaedic or trauma experience
