Nationwide Relief Health Care Assistant Panel
As we continue to expand our services to meet the needs of those we care for, we are pleased to invite applicants for Relief Health Care Assistant positions on our relief panel nationwide.
Being part of our relief panel allows you to work flexibly around your studies and family commitments while contributing to our teams across Ireland. Immediate availability is required in the following locations:
* Sligo
* Leitrim
* Roscommon
* Galway
* Mayo
* Longford
* Limerick
* Kerry
* Waterford
We welcome you to join our team to support children and adults with medium to profound disabilities, including those with life-limiting conditions. Our multidisciplinary teams include psychologists, behavioral therapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.
As a Health Care Assistant working on a shift rota, you will engage in daily activities and routines, provide direct support to service users, handle administrative tasks, and perform household duties. You will be part of a dedicated team within Residential Services, ensuring care complies with HIQA regulations and standards.
Essential Requirements
* Relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or equivalent
* At least 1 year of experience supporting adults or children with intellectual and physical disabilities
* Knowledge of caring for individuals with complex needs
* Full manual driver’s license and eligibility to drive in Ireland
* Eligibility to work in Ireland without Visa/Permit restrictions
Main Responsibilities
* Assist with activities and care as assigned, ensuring high standards of support
* Recognize each individual as unique, prioritizing their needs and comfort
* Act as an advocate, providing information and support to individuals and families
* Develop social interactions in individual and group settings
* Handle equipment safely and appropriately
* Participate in team communications and meetings
* Provide personal care when required
* Maintain confidentiality at all times
* Work flexibly on shifts to meet service needs
