Embedded Field Specialist

The role of an Embedded Technical Controls expert serves as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert on all day-to-day machine functions related to controls in Life Science Systems.

The main goal is to help the customer achieve operations equipment reliability and performance effectiveness throughout the lifecycle of the assets and provide a continuous transfer of knowledge.

This embedded specialist will be the face of ATS at the customer's facility, requiring strong communication skills and driving partnership, relationship, and collaboration with the customer.

Responsibilities:

* Work alongside cross-functional disciplines and departments on brand new equipment where you'll be expected to acquire integration expertise with the CAPEX Team, build strong relationships with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
* Enhance product knowledge by understanding customer products and assembly processes, as well as learning critical processes & new technologies.
* Operational proficiency involves gaining hands-on experience with PLC, HMI, and Servo systems, fault messaging, and machine diagnostics.
* Collaborative problem-solving requires working closely with the assembly team lead to troubleshoot and refine integration.
* Service strategy involvement includes engaging in integration, Pre-FAT, FAT, installation, & SAT.
* Execute the POST-SAT Service Support Strategy as per contract including formal and informal training, transfer of knowledge to the customer, and primary liaison to the customer.
* Facilitate warranty/non-warranty claims with the customer centric team.
* Collaborate with the Services Customer Success and Support teams to define and/or execute: retrofits and upgrades, ongoing OEE reviews, reliability improvements, opportunities to learn and support other customers within a local geographic area.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Drive operational and performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) of the equipment.
2. Troubleshoot controls equipment at the customer's facility and make necessary adjustments to bring equipment up to running status to achieve production requirements.
3. Operate system to demonstrate equipment operation and analyze malfunctions.
4. Record changes to software and electrical schematics following our red line process.
5. Provide information for machine technical documentation.
6. Supervise workers in testing, tuning and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum performance.
7. Advise management regarding customer satisfaction and product performance, making suggestions for product improvements bi-weekly via status reporting.
8. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve technical issues at customers' sites.
9. Make recommendations for software changes only on items that require changes.
10. Adhere to all customers' safety regulations while at their facility.
11. Maintain service reports and bulletins as required and submit them to the appropriate departments.
12. Meet or exceed customer expectations in an efficient manner.
13. Accurately conduct equipment audits and reports.
14. Consult with engineering personnel at ATS to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.
15. Actively collaborate with Sales Account Manager and Key Account Service Leader (KASL) on account management and opportunity development.
16. Maintain International Standardization Organization (ISO) standards.
17. Daily work on-site at customer's facility, providing weekly time and site report details.
18. Weekend work may be required on an as-needed basis.
19. Reside near the customer site for quick responsiveness.
20. Coordinate any additional PTO during contract duration with Project Management to ensure one embedded resource is available every weekday.
21. Comply with all ATS Company policies.
22. Ensure business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
23. Other duties as assigned.
