At Portmarnock Vet Clinic, we're looking for a friendly and reliable Animal Care Assistant to join our kind and committed team. You'll support the clinical team with animal care duties—feeding, cleaning, monitoring, and comforting patients—while also being a welcoming first point of contact for our clients at reception. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the clinic day-to-day.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:

* Helping nurses and vets during procedures where needed
* Cleaning and maintaining consult rooms, kennels, and public areas
* Greeting clients warmly and handling check-ins and payments
* Answering phones, booking appointments, and handling general queries
* Supporting the team in maintaining a calm, organised and positive environment
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience in animal care or a customer-facing role (or both) is preferred
* A calm, kind, and compassionate approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Reliable, organised, and comfortable multitasking
* Good IT skills – comfortable using booking systems, email, etc.
* Experience or interest in social media, website management, or digital marketing would be a definite advantage
* A genuine love for animals and interest in veterinary care
What We Offer:
* A kind, welcoming team and supportive work culture
* Competitive salary based on experience
* A role with variety, purpose, and opportunities to grow
* No Sundays, Bank Holidays, or out-of-hours
* Access to Headspace mindfulness app + Employee Assistance Programme
* On-site managers and a team that has your back
