Veterinary Receptionist / Animal Care Assistant Beaufield Veterinary Centre, Kildare Full-time or Part-time | Fixed Term Contract (12 months) Salary Up to €15 per hour DOE Start date: February 2026 Love animals, enjoy helping people, and want a role where you're truly part of the team? Beaufield Veterinary Centre is looking for a friendly, organised Veterinary Receptionist or Animal Care Assistant to join our warm and welcoming practice in Celbridge. This is a key front-of-house role where you'll be the reassuring voice on the phone, the friendly face at the desk, and an important part of the day-to-day life of the clinic. No two days are the same here. It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, multitasking, and working as part of a supportive, close-knit team who genuinely care about their clients, patients and each other. The Role & Working Pattern We are happy to consider full-time or part-time applications, with flexible hours and days available for the right candidate. You'll be required to work one in three Saturdays (10:30am–1:30pm). There is no night work, no Sundays and no bank holidays, making this an excellent option for someone looking for balance alongside a busy and rewarding role. What the Role Involves As a Veterinary Receptionist, you'll be the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, offering a calm, friendly and professional welcome in a busy small animal practice. Your duties will include managing appointments using our booking system, handling phone calls and enquiries, processing payments, and supporting the smooth running of the front desk. You'll also assist with general administrative tasks, help with stock control and deliveries (including some light lifting), and maintain high standards of cleanliness in client-facing areas. Building product knowledge is part of the role, allowing you to confidently support clients with queries and recommendations. Depending on your experience and ACA qualifications, there will also be opportunities to assist the clinical team with animal care duties. About Beaufield Veterinary Centre Beaufield Veterinary Centre has been part of the Celbridge community since 1996 and is known for its friendly atmosphere, compassion and strong team spirit. We are a well-equipped small animal clinic with digital and dental radiography, ultrasound and modern monitoring equipment. Our established team includes 3 vets, 4 nurses and 3 support staff, all of whom are passionate about patient care and regularly work with a number of charity organisations. About You We're looking for someone reliable, approachable and proactive, who enjoys working with both people and animals. You'll ideally have experience in a receptionist, customer-facing or animal care role, be comfortable using IT systems (including Outlook), and confident handling payments and discussing fees with clients. An Animal Care qualification would be an advantage but is not essential. Strong communication skills, good organisation, attention to detail and a genuine interest in animal welfare are key.
