Accounts Assistant Job Description
A dynamic and supportive finance team is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join them on a contract with potential for extension.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with accounting software, a solid understanding of bookkeeping, and the ability to produce accurate financial reports.
* Process and reconcile supplier invoices, staff expenses, and credit card transactions
* Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
* Assist with management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
* Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely posting of transactions
* Support close procedures
* Produce reports for stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls
* Liaise with departments and suppliers
* Provide ad-hoc finance support as needed
Key Requirements
* Proven experience with accounting software
* Strong understanding of bookkeeping and procedures
* Experience preparing management accounts
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (desirable)
