The Company Gallagher Insurances are a trusted family-run business established over 45 years ago which in 2025 was acquired by two investors with strong experience in the insurance sector who plan to substantially grow the business. The capability and investment needed to build the retail business is now in place and we are now looking for an ambitious Commercial account executive to manage the existing commercial clients and lead the development of the commercial business. The Role The Commercial Account Executive will be responsible for managing and retaining the existing commercial customers and for leading the development and execution of a plan to significantly grow the commercial business. There will be a handover period, working with the Director currently responsible for the commercial business who is retiring at the end of 2026. This role has significant potential for growth and development for a dynamic and ambitious individual who successfully leads the growth of the commercial business This is a hybrid role, that may involve some regional travel. The Candidate Self-motivated, driven Sales Professional with a desire for professional growth and development. The ideal candidate should have 3+ years experience in a similar role. Very strong interpersonal skills, presentational skills and industry knowledge is a key requirement for the successful candidate. As this is a growth role, the preferred candidate must have the ability to work on their own initiative and possess a strong desire to succeed. Key Responsibilities Sales & Portfolio Management Manage and retain existing commercial customers Develop and agree a plan for the significant development of the commercial business and lead the implementation of the plan Achieve agreed financial targets & objectives Contribute to the development of the broader business Build strong relationships with key Insurer partners Customer Relationship Management Build trusted working relationships with customers Share information effectively and support strong communication across stakeholders. Team Collaboration Work closely with the CEO and all other team members. Contribute to a team-focused environment Compliance & Professional Standards Adhere to all audit and regulatory requirements. Complete CPD within required timelines. Maintain high-quality file records in line with prescribed standards. Candidate Requirements The ideal candidate will demonstrate : Ambition and drive with a sales and delivery focus Experience of building productive relationships with customers and Insurers Strong Market and Product Knowledge of the Commercial Insurance Market The ability to work individually and as part of a wider team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Innovative approach to sales and growth strategies.
