About the Role
The Site Manager will oversee all mechanical and electrical aspects of the data centre water treatment project delivery on projects throughout Europe. The role involves managing the installation and commissioning of water treatment systems via the use of sub-contractors and EPS resources to ensure they meet project specifications and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical or process water engineering along with excellent leadership skills and experience in site management. Based at our head office in Mallow, Co. Cork initially but with extended travel to Finland and mainland Europe to oversee the project.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Site Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation of specialist water treatment plant and associated pipework and instrumentation, including the electrical aspects of the project and the associated control panels and automation systems.
Coordinate with Stakeholders: Liaise with project managers, sub-contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution and strong stakeholder management.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the mechanical team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all works comply with project specifications, standards and regulations.
Site Supervision: Supervise mechanical and electrical subcontractors, ensure adherence to safety protocols and monitor progress of the project against the programme of works.
Commissioning and Testing: Oversee the commissioning and testing of mechanical systems to ensure proper functionality.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any project issues promptly to avoid project delays, communicating any issues back to the EPS Project Manager.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of mechanical installations, inspections, and testing. Review the installation programme and report to the EPS project manager. Compile monthly project progress reports.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Health & Safety: Responsibility for all site HSQE requirements, preparing RAMS, site inductions, toolbox talks, safe plan of action and ensuring all activities are carried out in a safe manner while on site.
Key Competencies and Skills
M&E background with delivery experience.
Strong engineering, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Leadership of site teams and making key decisions on delivery.
Familiar with reading drawings, including General Arrangement, P&ID's and an understanding of electrical SLD's.
Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
Knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices.
Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office tools.
Experience working in the data centre industry is advantageous.
Qualifications
Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Process Water Engineer.
Full driving licence.
Experience in site management essential, minimum of 5 years in site supervision or management.
