The Role:
The Financial Governance and Compliance Function manages assurance activities, controls monitoring, policy compliance, and supports oversight groups such as the Water Advisory Board and Public Accounts Committee. It oversees expenditure approvals, contract reviews, and insurance activities, providing audits and reviews of contract implementation.
The Governance & Compliance Analyst supports these efforts by building strong relationships, understanding business processes, and ensuring controls are embedded to enhance financial performance and compliance. Located close to the business, they provide advice, analysis, and interpretation to support decision-making and statutory requirements.
Reporting to the Integrated Assurance Lead, the analyst will assist in maintaining effective controls, supporting assurance reviews, and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Implement and support finance processes and compliance frameworks
* Assist in delivering the Internal Controls Programme and evidence-based control reviews
* Support the Internal Control Self-Assessment process
* Review and update risk registers
* Conduct expense and credit card compliance checks
* Assist in reporting for internal forums and policies
* Perform controls testing through the Continuous Controls Monitoring programme
* Support the Governance & Compliance Business Partner and ad hoc assurance reviews
* Develop relationships with managers and external bodies
* Coordinate with external auditors
* Stay updated on best practices
* Drive improvements in finance processes and practices
* Perform other duties as required
General Duties and Responsibilities:

* Promote health and safety standards
* Support the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme
* Perform additional duties as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Relevant third-level qualification or accreditation preferred
* At least 3 years' experience in water, utilities, or related industries
* Experience with internal control systems is desirable
* Strong stakeholder relationship skills
* Proven problem-solving and communication skills
* High motivation and professional standards
* Strong analytical skills, proficient in Excel
* Ability to identify improvements and implement solutions
* Adaptability and proactive learning
* Focus on safety and continuous improvement
