Senior Speech & Language Therapist- Young Adults Disability Team Permanent Contract 35 hours per week Location: Johnstown Co. Kildare Senior Speech & Language Therapist Salary Scale: €64,551 - €76,007 Successful candidates will be panelled for positions. The Young Adults team is an inter-disciplinary clinical team that provides clinical supports to young adults with complex disability needs age 18-26 years of age. The teams current base is in Johnstown Village, Co. Kildare with the opportunity for remote working one day a week. The role offers an opportunity for working across a variety of day services and organisations within the catchment area of Dublin, South Kildare and West Wicklow supporting individuals in their day service, home or in the community. The Senior Speech and Language Therapist will join an established interdisciplinary team, supporting young adults with complex disability needs aged between 18 26 years. The Senior Speech and Language Therapist will provide a range of clinical services including assessment, team formulation, intervention, training for frontline staff and consultations with staff teams. Applicants interested in full-time and part time work will be considered. Responsibilities include: Be responsible for managing and prioritising own caseload in the context of the overall service. To provide a range of Speech & Language services such as assessments and interventions to adults with complex needs. To participate in relevant clinical and team meetings as deemed appropriate by designated manager. Apply clinical reasoning to plan, grade, implement and modify interventions that are outcome based and relevant to persons goals. Facilitate individual assessment, recommendations, reviews, education sessions with parents or other support staff. Contribute to the learning and education of others and support staff to identify future learning needs and development goals. To contribute towards the ongoing development of the service, including participation in the evaluation of service delivery and in research initiatives. To work in collaboration with the other team members of the inter-disciplinary team in the planning and delivery of clinical services. Apply and develop caseload management procedures including prioritisation of cases, managing reviews etc. Travel between Kare locations, as required Requirements Hold a relevant Speech & Language Therapy qualification Have 3 years full time post qualification clinical experience Be currently registered with CORU Experience working with children/young adults with complex disability needs. Experience in supporting FEDS assessment and intervention plans. Demonstrate a level of clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based practice appropriate to carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the role in line with relevant legislation and standards. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate in partnership with others.
