As a Support Worker, you will help clients with daily needs and contribute to effective best-practice standards in our accommodation services.
You will facilitate participation initiatives, work with the team to discuss and plan client support, and help them achieve their goals and change their lives.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Supporting project/key workers and management in implementing operational and strategic goals.
* Building professional relationships of trust with all service users and residents.
* Treating all service users and residents with dignity and respect.
* Providing therapeutic and diversionary interventions, promoting positive mental health attitudes, self-esteem, and self-respect.
* Liaising with service providers in the voluntary and public sectors.
* Establishing and expanding services to meet physical and mental health needs.
* Delivering personal, professional, and social development programs.
You will also be responsible for:
* Managing medication/health regimes, accessing primary and secondary healthcare, and liaising with GPs and pharmacists.
* Processing incoming enquiries and referrals to accommodation.
* Supporting service users to liaise with landlords and facilitating moves.
* Completing daily duties, including assisting clients and supporting their mental and physical health.
* Ensuring the safe and healthy functioning of buildings.
* Managing complex and challenging behavior and conflict management.
* Carrying out administrative duties, such as managing petty cash and record-keeping.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Level 6, 7, or 8 qualification in a relevant field, with 6 months of experience in a similar setting.
* Or a Level 5 qualification in a relevant field, with 12 months of experience in a similar setting.
* Flexibility to work in an agile environment.
* A willingness to learn.
* Experience in carrying out Health & Safety inspections and audits.
* IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
