ABOUT THE ROLE:An exciting opportunity has arisen for an area support nurse to contribute to the clinical needs of clients while also contributing to the overall clinical governance strategy. In this position, you will be part of a clinical team and responsible for overseeing that clients in your area are being provided with safe and effective care. You will work closely with the Client Care Managers who manage their own HSE area. By supporting the Client Care Managers, you will assist them with running their areas and ensure that auditing and compliance checks are completed regularly. You will have the responsibility to take ownership of achieving the highest levels of compliance with regards to regulations, laws, quality standards and policies whilst ensuring your service receives an outstanding HSE/ HIQA inspection.What We're Looking ForQualifications & Experience:Active on the NMBI Register - General Nurse Division, minimum of 3 years' experience in an acute setting, a current full clean driving license and excellent computer skills in Microsoft OfficeDrivers licence:Hold a full driving licence with access to a carCommunication Skills:Good standard of English - both spoken and writtenDesirable Criteria:Previous experience working within home care, certification in wound care, excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to multitask in an ever changing environment.Skills & qualities:High level of organisation skills with the ability to plan and prioritise with excellent attention to detail, creative and strategic thinker who is able to embrace, influence and communicate improvements to the team, positive and engaging person with the ability to build great working relationships and a strong team work ability but also a high degree of self-motivation to take initiative and work alone.BENEFITS:Employee Recognition:Be celebrated with awards - Employee of the Month, Employee of the Quarter and Employee of the Year.Refer a Friend:Earn €200 for successful referralsFree Perks:Free comprehensive training and support, Garda vetting, Cycle to Work Scheme, Wellbeing package, career progression opportunities.MAIN DUTIESQuality Governance and Compliance:Have complete oversight of your areas to always ensure high competence and compliance levels and report any areas of concern to Quality Governance Nurse MangerTo anticipate and identify improvements needed and address deficiencies in the quality of service provided. This will include service development needs, education development and implementation of policies, audit processes and patient safety initiatives.Ensuring compliance as per current HSE Tender SpecificationAssist in preparation for implementation of HQIAAssist Operations team with compliance reviews as agreed with Line ManagerHave complete oversight of all Governance and clinical issues for your area and report weekly to Quality Governance Nurse Manager for same.Collate and analyse data, identifying patterns or trends as requestedInternally audit and monitor Client and Staff files of Area Managers according to annual audit scheduleContribute to an areas contingency planning and updating priority banding of clientsAssist with preparation of monthly Compliance reports as directed by line managerAssist with coverage for compliance and governance in other areas as requiredAs part of the governance team, day to day management, leadership and direction for operational teams in your areasTo be responsible for establishing and keeping track of quality improvement and other information that concerns patient careContinuous quality improvementClinical Support:Provide clinical support on request of client care managers and assist with complex patient care reviews and assessments.To carry out regular risk assessments to identify clinical risks and prevent accidents and Support Client Care Manager's in appropriate incident management systems for incidents, complaints, adverse incidents and safeguarding concernsSupport Clients and Client Care Managers with clinical care and complex needs advice and revert to HSE/ Public Health where necessaryTraining and Development:Conduct staff training for induction, epilepsy and manual handling refresher trainingService development for example, intellectual disabilitiesEnsure appropriate training is in place for all staff and advocate for staff training needs when required.Identifying gaps in training where we can make improvements for our carers to provide better care to our clientsWork with Training team to ensure clinical content of material meets ROI legislative requirements and NMBI standardsOther:Develop and strengthen relationships with services providers both HSE and private clients to ensure smooth running of our serviceLiaising with the designated stakeholders relative to the Area i.e. Public Health Nurse & HSE whilst promoting an open and transparent working cultureActively seek feedback from commissioners, stakeholders, staff, clients and relatives to look at service improvement and achieving positive outcomes for those who use our services.Contributed to policy review, development and implementation as neededThis list of duties is not exhaustive and will require the successful candidate to be flexible and be adaptable to change.Skills & Qualities RequiredExemplar communication skills with the ability to lead in a facilitative and confident mannerBe a highly determined, driven, and ambitious individual, with the desire to make a real difference to the lives of our service users and assist in the growth of our clinical services.Have a high level of organisation skills with the ability to plan and prioritise with excellent attention to detail.A creative and strategic thinker who is able to embrace, influence and communicate improvements to the team.Positive and engaging person with the ability to build great working relationships.Essential CriteraActive on the NMBI Register - General Nurse DivisionMinimum of 3 years' experience in an acute settingHold a current full clean driving licenseHave strong teamwork ability but also a high degree of self-motivation to take initiative and work aloneExcellent computer skills in Microsoft OfficeDESIRABLE CRITERIAPrevious experience working within home careCertification in wound careExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to multitask in an everchanging environmentLevel 6 Train the TrainerLevel 6 Patient Moving and Handling TrainerAbout UsAt Connected Health, we don't just offer a job - we offer careers that are at the forefront of transforming the way homecare is delivered across Ireland.
