RPS has a great opportunity for a Health & Safety Officer to join our team based in Dublin.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to support and deliver existing and new high-profile projects. You will be central to the project team, assisting in the delivery of projects for key public and private sector clients in Ireland and beyond. You will be part of the Health & Safety team within RPS, responsible for maintaining and developing the company’s Health & Safety Management Systems.
Duties:
* Fulfilling the duties of the PSDP and acting as Health & Safety Coordinator for the Design Process as outlined in the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
* Managing PSDP projects, including client management, coordination, and ensuring completion on time, within budget, and scope.
* Providing guidance on legislative compliance and industry best practices.
* Offering technical support and leadership to clients and designers.
* Producing project-related Health & Safety documentation and reports, including Preliminary Safety and Health Plans and Safety Files.
* Managing occupational health and safety requirements of a large engineering consultancy.
Requirements:
* Expert knowledge of construction Health & Safety Regulations, practices, and procedures.
* Ability to act as a competent PSDP as per the Safety, Health & Welfare Act 2005 and related regulations.
* At least 8 years of experience in building or civil engineering infrastructure works, including safety management and the roles of Project Supervisor Design Process and/or Construction Stage (or similar).
* Experience with OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 or similar safety systems.
* Experience in preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments, Design Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and Safety & Health plans.
* Excellent IT skills, particularly with MS Word and MS Excel.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
* Diploma/Degree or equivalent in Health & Safety, ideally in Construction Health & Safety.
* Degree in Engineering or a related discipline with recognized Health & Safety training.
* Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland, IOSH, or similar, or working towards such status.
