Offer description

At Busy Bees Aotearoa, people are at the heart of everything we do. As one of New Zealand's largest private early childcare education providers we're committed to creating safe, nurturing environments where tamariki, whānau, and our people can thrive.

We're looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our People & Culture team to partner closely with our leaders across 85+ Centres.

About the opportunity

This is a hands-on, partnering role where you'll work closely with leaders to provide pragmatic HR advice across the full employee lifecycle. You'll combine your expertise in employee relations with coaching, capability building, and contributing to wider People & Culture initiatives.

You'll also work closely supporting a People & Culture Advisor and play a key role in embedding consistent, compliant, and people-centred practices.

Key responsibilities

* Partner with leaders to provide end-to-end HR advice across ER, performance, engagement and change

* Coach and support leaders to build confident, capable, compliant and values-aligned teams

* Manage ER matters, including investigations, disciplinary processes and conflict resolution

* Contribute to initiatives across culture, wellbeing, learning & development, and inclusion

* Use people data and insights to identify trends, manage risk, and inform decision-making

* Embed Te Ao Māori perspectives and honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday people practice

About you

You're a confident, approachable HR professional who enjoys being close to the business and making a real difference. You bring sound judgement, strong ER capability, and a genuine care for people. You'll have:

* 5+ years' experience in an HR Business Partner or senior HR advisory role

* Strong working knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation

* Experience supporting leaders through ER matters and organisational change

* Excellent relationship-building and coaching skills

* A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with high emotional intelligence

* Experience in education, care, or multi-site operational environments (highly regarded)

Why join Busy Bees Aotearoa?

* A values-driven organisation making a meaningful difference for tamariki and whānau

* A supportive, collaborative People & Culture team

* A role with real influence, variety, and scope within an Equal Opportunity employer

* Ongoing professional development

* 50% discount on childcare fees at Busy Bees for your children

* Free parking onsite and office within walking distance to Orewa beach

If you're passionate about people and thrive in a true partnering role, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now and help us grow great people, great leaders, and great learning environments.

Applications are invited from candidates who have the legal right to work in NZ.

Why Work for Busy Bees?
If you're passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart.

We know that we couldn't do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire.
