To support our growing team, Echelon is now recruiting a Chief Engineer – M&E Services to manage and oversee all data centre mechanical and electrical system operations for their new facility in Dublin, Ireland.
This role will report to Echelon's Data Centre Manager.
This position will be coming on board as we finalise construction and begin the mechanical and electrical services fitout, where the Chief Engineer – M&E Services will be an active participant in all commissioning, testing and start-up procedures.
This is a full-time, permanent role and comes with an attractive remuneration package.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for operational documentation governance, compliance evidence management, controlled document lifecycle, and SharePoint repository oversight.
The role ensures documentation integrity, regulatory alignment, and operational readiness support across the data centre and energy centre estate.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Documentation Management
Manage controlled documentation (SOPs, EOPs, MOPs, policies).
Enforce metadata standards, versioning rules, approvals, and lifecycle governance.
Maintain master copies on SharePoint and archive superseded versions.
SharePoint Repository Governance
Manage permissions, folder structures, metadata schemas, and file hygiene.
Conduct periodic audits on outdated, duplicate, and unclassified files.
Train teams on correct usage and governance compliance.
Compliance Management
Maintain evidence for ISO *****, ISO *****, and statutory regulatory bodies.
Support audit preparation and provide structured evidence packs.
Track corrective actions and regulatory updates.
Collaboration
Work with Operations, Engineering, EHS, IT, and vendors to support readiness.
Coordinate documentation inputs for OA/ORA programmes.
Facilitate cross-team communication of documentation standards.
Reporting
Produce monthly dashboards on documentation accuracy, compliance status, and repository hygiene.
Maintain reporting metrics for audits and readiness programs.
Qualifications
Educational Background
Bachelor's degree in business administration, compliance, IT, or equivalent field.
Professional Experience
3–5 years in document control, compliance, governance, or similar roles.
Experience in critical infrastructure or data centre environments preferred.
Certifications
Desirable: ISO auditor, ITIL, SharePoint governance certifications.
Technical Skills
Advanced SharePoint administration.
Strong knowledge of document control frameworks.
Understanding of ISO compliance structures.
Excellent analytical and organisational skills.
