Structural Design Expert
This role is a key part of our engineering team, responsible for the development and implementation of secondary steel designs for MEP services across various projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, with experience in developing secondary steel designs, working with structural steelwork, prefabrication, modularisation, or services. They will also possess excellent mathematical and IT skills, with knowledge of design packages and load capacity data sources.
The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with project managers during the design development to construction stage, ensuring that proposed services support systems comply with all regulations and requirements. They will also carry out preliminary designs and design checks on proposed support systems, including secondary steelwork, their fixings to the main structure, and service fixings and hangars.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Liaising with project managers to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements
2. Carrying out preliminary designs and design checks on proposed support systems
3. Assessing the impact of secondary steelwork loads on primary structures and members
4. Coordinating temporary works design with site teams and third parties
