Western Alzheimers Mayo are recruiting community based Family Support Workers in Louisburgh area to provide in‑home support (non‑medical) for people living with dementia and their carers. The primary role will be to provide companionship and support to the person living with dementia, allowing the primary carer a break. Tasks include social interaction and meaningful activities such as a gentle walk or playing board games.
Working hours are 19.5 hours per week and can be flexible. We are looking for honest and reliable individuals. A full driver’s licence and access to transport is essential. This is an excellent opportunity to upskill. Comprehensive induction training will be provided and it will also be a stepping stone to becoming a qualified Health Care Assistant through completion of QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification.
