We are presently recruiting for an Energy Engineer for our clients in County Kerry. You will support the delivery of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions in residential projects in predominately residential houses. You will offer and undertake energy assessments and building performance optimisation audits and will ensure full compliance with Irish energy regulations and sustainability goals. This is a permanent position based in County Kerry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct BER (Building Energy Rating) assessments and energy audits on new and existing residential buildings.
2. Design and implement cost-effective energy efficiency measures, including insulation upgrades, airtightness improvements, and heating system optimisations.
3. Specify and support the installation of renewable energy systems (e.g. solar PV, air-to-water heat pumps).
4. Ensure full compliance with Part L of the Irish Building Regulations, DEAP software, and NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) standards.
5. Carry out energy modelling and simulation using tools such as DEAP, PHPP, or IESVE.
6. Prepare technical reports, grant applications (e.g. SEAI home energy grants), and funding documentation.
7. Work closely with company managers, architects, contractors, and homeowners to deliver energy-efficient design solutions.
8. Monitor energy performance post-occupancy and recommend adjustments or enhancements.
Essential requirements:
9. Degree holder in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Sustainable Energy, or a related discipline.
10. Certified Domestic BER Assessor registered with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).
11. Experience in preparing SEAI grant applications (e.g. Better Energy Homes, One Stop Shop schemes
12. In-depth knowledge of Irish building regulations, especially Part L and energy performance frameworks.
13. Experience with residential construction projects, including retrofits and new builds.
14. Proficiency in DEAP and other energy assessment tools.
15. Strong report writing, communication, and client liaison skills.
