At Albany Beck, you'll be choosing to work with an organisation that's passionate about your learning journey and committed to your professional career and personal development.
The Role
Albany Beck are scaling out their KYC/AML capacity and are seeking an experienced Senior KYC/AML Specialist to support a leading Investment Banking team in strengthening its financial crime risk management framework, with a particular focus on client onboarding, ongoing oversight, and institutional client assessments.
This engagement is part of a targeted initiative to enhance financial crime processes within the Investment Bank, ensuring they are proportionate, effective, and aligned to the needs of institutional and corporate clients, rather than adopting retail-style controls that do not suit the IB operating model.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and assess current AML, KYC and financial crime procedures across all Investment Banking business lines.
* Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to standardise and simplify processes across Corporate Finance, Trading, Fixed Income, Brokerage and Research functions.
* Develop and document enhanced procedures, templates, checklists, and guidance materials to support consistent application of AML and KYC standards.
* Design a management information (MI) and escalation framework to strengthen oversight and governance reporting.
* Propose an optimal operating model, including recommendations on ownership, SME capability, and ongoing review structures.
* Align IB-specific processes with the broader organisational AML uplift programme, maintaining proportionality for institutional client activity.
* Deliver training and communications to ensure effective implementation and consistency across business teams.
Candidate Profile
* Senior-level experience in AML, KYC, and financial crime risk management within an investment banking or capital markets setting.
* Proven ability to interpret and apply regulation pragmatically in a complex, fast-paced environment.
* Strong background in policy, guidance, and procedural documentation development.
* Experience contributing to or designing target operating models or framework enhancements.
* Gravitas and credibility to engage with senior stakeholders and challenge constructively.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of building alignment across first and second line functions.
* Analytical and structured, with the ability to translate complex frameworks into clear, actionable materials.
* Collaborative approach with the ability to balance regulatory obligations and commercial realities.
* Comfortable delivering training and knowledge transfer to business teams.
