Occupational Therapist - Hybrid Role (1 Week Onsite / Month)
Location:
Wicklow
Contract:
Permanent
About the Service
We are a specialist children's service delivering high-quality, family-centred assessment and support. The service offers clarity, direction, and practical strategies to families, and operates within a supportive, collaborative environment that values professional autonomy, clinical quality, and work-life balance.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the team in a hybrid capacity. This role combines onsite clinical assessment work with remote consultation, planning, and programme/resource development. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to contribute to neurodevelopmental assessment, consultation, and support pathways for children and families.
This role is suited to an OT who enjoys assessment-focused work, values flexibility, and wants to be part of a progressive service model without the pressure of intensive long-term therapy caseloads.
Onsite Responsibilities (1 Week Per Month)
* Conduct direct client-facing occupational therapy assessments with children and families
* Functional observations and assessment of developmental, sensory and motor skills
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT)
* School and early years setting visits where required
Remote Responsibilities (Remaining Weeks)
* Report writing and documentation
* Online consultations with parents and teachers
* Programme and resource development
* Development of guidance materials and staff training content
* Care coordination and follow-up recommendations
* Continued professional development
Practice Scope
Assessment work spans a broad range of neurodevelopmental presentations, including autism, ADHD, social communication differences, emotional regulation difficulties, and diverse learning profiles. Most cases will be straightforward to moderate in complexity, supporting families seeking clarity, practical strategies, and early intervention pathways. Administrative support is available to assist with scheduling and report coordination.
Additional Onsite Requirement
There may occasionally be a need for additional onsite days beyond the standard one-week-per-month schedule. These will be arranged with reasonable notice and compensated appropriately.
Essential Requirements
* CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
* Experience conducting structured assessments with children
* Strong report writing and communication skills
* Confidence working independently within a hybrid model
