Maintenance Technician Role Summary: The person will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, troubleshooting, and repair of all plant equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, adherence to safety and quality standards, and collaboration with the production team to achieve operational targets. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Perform preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment life. Conduct planned maintenance routines. Maintain accurate records by entering maintenance data into the system and updating equipment logs. Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently. Carry out electro-mechanical repairs on PLC-controlled systems, pneumatic and hydraulic components, and their control systems. Monitor production lines and intervene immediately when issues arise. Work independently and in teams to assess faults and determine whether immediate repairs are required. Key Skills and Experience: Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent field) essential. Health & Safety certification (such as Manual Handling, Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, etc.) desirable. Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role essential. Experience working with high-speed production lines, conveyors, packaging equipment, or automated systems essential. Proven experience in electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repairs essential. Previous experience in a regulated environment (e.g., food, pharmaceuticals, or automotive) is advantageous. Experience with continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) desirable. Authorised to work in Ireland essential.
