Grants & Project Accountant Location: Newbridge / Hybrid Salary: €65,000 - €75,000 A leading organisation in the renewable energy and sustainability sector is seeking a Grants & Project Accountant. This role is integral to tracking and reporting on the financial performance of grant-funded projects, particularly those focused on renewable energy and green transition initiatives. The successful candidate will ensure accurate project costing, alignment with funding requirements, and strong support for both Finance and Project Management teams. Additionally, the role will support ongoing process and systems improvements within the finance function. Key Responsibilities: Manage daily general ledger operations to ensure accuracy and policy compliance. Oversee the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and financial reports aligned with strategic objectives. Lead all aspects of grant administration: tracking, budgeting, compliance, and reporting. Prepare and submit grant claims, ensure eligibility of expenditure, and maintain audit-ready documentation. Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information for accurate grant claims and audits. Address finance queries from funding bodies and support grant audit processes. Collaborate with Finance and Project teams to continuously improve project accounting and grant claims processes. Assist in developing tools, templates, and systems for enhanced accuracy and efficiency. Provide monthly financial reports for project managers and stakeholders. Prepare reconciliations, accruals, financial schedules, and variance analyses. Support capitalisation of project costs and cash flow forecasting. Ensure adherence to health and safety policies and actively participate in performance management to meet team and individual objectives. The Ideal Candidate: Holds a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Has a minimum of 3 years experience in project accounting, grant finance, or a related areaideally within the renewable energy or sustainability sectors. Demonstrates solid knowledge of grant compliance and project-based accounting. Experienced in ERP systems, particularly Oracle and Oracle BI, and comfortable using tools like Power BI and Excel for data analysis. Has strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach. Experience with time-tracking and resource allocation systems is highly desirable.
