Job Title: Web Applications Developer (PowerApps)
Location: This post will primarily be located in one of the core Client Offices e.g. Ballina, Co. Mayo, Loughrea, Co. Galway, Bowe Street, Dublin or other such places designated as convenient with remote possibilities.
Contract / Permanent: 12 Months with further extension.
Role
* To support the client’s strategic proposition of “Innovation in everything we do”, the client Technology Platforms and Solutions (TPS) Team provide services that are enablers and a strategic partner to the business in supporting their technology needs.
* The client TPS Technical Solution Delivery Team are responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance and support of a number of business-critical systems that are used to provide services to both internal and external customers.
* A requirement now exists for a PowerApps developer on a contract basis, a candidate that is knowledgeable and experienced about all things related to technology solutions and ensuring that these solutions deliver fully on business requirements.
* A professional who will go above and beyond the call of duty to support the client’s technological needs.
Experience Level Required
* It is a mandatory requirement that the Resource proposed has the equivalent of 4-6 Years’ professional experience (Intermediate).
* It is a mandatory requirement that the Resource proposed hold the following qualifications or equivalents:
* At a minimum, hold Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications with computing/computational modules taken in the final year combined with 4-6 years directly relevant, hands-on experience.
* Mandatory: Full driver’s license required.
Key Deliverables
* Assisting the Development team when appropriate in the following areas:
o Initiate, Planning and Design stages for PMO projects.
o Technical Design of PowerApps and RPA solutions.
o Evaluations for PMO project.
o Provide estimations to feed into PMO project plans.
* Design, develop, and implement custom business applications using Microsoft PowerApps (Canvas and Model-driven) or alternative technologies where appropriate.
* Integrate PowerApps with external data sources such as Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL Server, and other Microsoft and third-party applications.
* Develop and maintain PowerApps components, custom connectors, and UI enhancements.
* Build automation workflows using Power Automate, Power Automate Desktop or suitable alternative solutions.
* Collaborate with business users, analysts, and IT teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
* Ensure application security, governance, and compliance best practices are followed.
* Ensure that any bugs or defects found in the solutions are addressed before release to ensure quality standards are met.
* Maintain and update all relevant documentation for solutions including
o Technical Architecture
o Runbooks for Service Desk
* Provide 3rd level support via ICT Service Desk for PowerApps and RPA solutions in Production including but not limited to:
o Car Driving Test Waiting Time Estimator
o Road Safety Strategy Portal
* Troubleshoot and optimize existing PowerApps applications for performance and usability improvements.
* Work with Solution Architect / ICT Operations Manager and Service Desk team to propose and implement changes to existing solutions to reduce Service Desk ticket volumes.
* Work with Solution Architect to propose and implement changes to existing solutions to bring about operational improvements.
* Manage and configure PowerApps environments, including security, data policies, and DLP (Data Loss Prevention) policies.
* Monitor and optimize PowerApps environment performance, capacity, and governance.
* Provide guidance and advice to ICT colleagues on management of PowerApps environments
* Follow the technical change management processes and approvals for any technical changes to Production versions of PowerApps or RPA solutions
* Work with the clients’s Operational Excellence team, completing process reviews to identify process bottlenecks and capacity constraints, identifying and implementing ways to reduce, eliminate or automate.
* Work and support OpEx teams to co-ordinate delivery of PowerApps and RPA solutions.
* Develop and deliver training and work with end users to promote and advocate a lean culture underpinned by RPA.
* Advise and guide colleagues on the best practices and development techniques to achieve their automation goal.
* Stay updated on the latest Power Platform features and best practices to ensure innovative solutions.
Requirements
The following Experience/Competencies/Skillsets are applicable to this Role.
1. Strong experience with Microsoft PowerApps (Canvas and Model-driven applications).
2. Proficiency in Power Automate (Flow) for process automation and Power Automate Desktop for RPA solutions.
3. Experience working with Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL Server, and other data sources.
4. Experience with Azure services such as Logic Apps, Functions, or API Management.
5. Experience in integrating PowerApps with Dynamics 365 applications.
6. Experience in managing PowerApps environments, including security, compliance, and performance optimization.
7. Knowledge of Azure Logic Apps, or Azure Functions.
8. Experience with Agile development methodologies.
9. Understanding of security models, user roles, and permissions within Power Platform.
10. Experience with RPA tools such as UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere is a plus.
11. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
12. Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and requirement gathering.
