Overview
An Irish owned company strong operational footprint across Ireland, the UK, Europe is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day activities of its finance function.
Reporting to the CFO, this is a key leadership role with responsibility for financial control, reporting, and team management within a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
Review and consolidate balance sheet reconciliations and P&L performance
Work with finance leadership on strategic projects and system upgrades
Analyse financial results, identify trends, and present insights to senior leadership
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and working capital initiatives
Lead and develop a team of finance professionals across AP, AR, and GL functions
Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and audit requirements
Implement and maintain robust financial controls and governance frameworks
Drive improvements in systems, reporting tools, and finance processes
Candidate Requirements
Fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred) with 10+ PQE
Minimum of 8 years at senior finance level
Proven experience managing and mentoring a large finance team
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Advanced Excel capabilities and strong systems knowledge
Comfortable operating in a deadline-driven, change-oriented environment
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a commercially minded finance leader with a hands‑on approach and a strong control mindset.
They are comfortable managing competing priorities, developing high‑performing teams, and influencing senior stakeholders across the organisation.
A background in large or complex organisations will be beneficial.
