Clinical Nurse Manager | Craddock House Nursing Home
Job Responsibilities
Provide support to the Person In Charge / Unit manager in the clinical and professional leadership of the care team and deliver direct resident care.
Ensure the provision of a high standard of care to residents and their families consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategic plan of the Nursing Home.
Ensure recognition of the resident as an individual, prioritising residents' rights, needs and comfort during the provision of care.
Develop relationships with residents to facilitate resident autonomy, informed choice and evidence-based decision-making.
Promote and maintain resident safety, respecting privacy, dignity and rights.
Maximise residents' capacity to exercise personal autonomy and choice, assisting them to maintain identity and participation in decision-making whenever possible.
Operate the home in a manner that respects age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, family status, civil status, race, religious beliefs and ethnic and cultural background of each resident.
Plan, assess and deliver resident care that maximises autonomy and choice with the multidisciplinary care team.
Qualifications
Registered General Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, or entitlement to be registered.
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience, including experience at a Senior Staff Nurse / CNM level.
Post Graduate Diploma in Gerontology (desirable).
Gerontology experience (desirable).
Experience in Psycho-Geriatric Nursing Care, Psychiatry or Adult Disability (desirable).
In-depth knowledge of the ageing process.
Information Technology skills (desirable).
Management qualifications (desirable).
