Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Settlements Analyst to join our Dublin team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of trades across a range of financial products, working closely with traders, operations, and client-facing teams to maintain high settlement rates and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage global settlements for our European companies, ensuring prompt and efficient matching and settlement of OTC, client, and exchange trades across equities, bonds, and ETFs.
* Liaise with internal departments (Securities Lending, Corporate Actions, Technology, Trading Desks, Trade Support) and external parties (Prime Brokers, Execution Brokers, clients) to resolve discrepancies and mitigate settlement risks.
* Monitor and analyze buy-in notices, interest claims, fines, and trade fails, recommending process improvements to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
* Compile and analyze monthly management reports on trading volume, settlement performance, and PnL impact.
* Participate in strategic initiatives to improve operational processes and automation, taking ownership of new ideas from concept to implementation.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with traders, sales, and client teams, ensuring a high level of service and client satisfaction.
* Direct settlement functions for Prime Broker and Direct Market Access (DMA) providers.
* Position management through analysis of long/short positions and instruction of reregistration of securities to cover short positions.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent).
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in financial settlements, trade operations, or a related role within financial services.
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with financial settlement systems is advantageous.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
* Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices in settlements is highly desirable.
