The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the dynamic Markets team at EY Ireland for 12 months. The maternity cover for the Head of Events and Sponsorship will be responsible for leading the events and sponsorships team and overseeing the development and delivery of a comprehensive programme of client events and sponsorship initiatives, designed to support the firm’s brand profile, market presence, and strategic growth objectives.
The successful candidate will report to the Marketing Director and work closely with the wider Markets team (Marketing, Communications, Business Development) to deliver a best-in-class suite of event and sponsorship initiatives that support the positioning of EY as one of Ireland’s leading professional services firms.
Responsibilities
* Plan and manage the programme of strategic events and sponsorships to support the firm’s strategic brand and growth priorities within budget.
* Manage the events and sponsorship team (both on and offshore) to ensure optimal deployment of talent for the annual events programme.
* Manage relations with external event organisers, hospitality, and creative agencies to ensure EY’s optimal positioning at industry and hospitality events.
* Oversee the end-to-end production and delivery of industry events for major C-Suite clients, maximizing client experience and engagement.
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align events with business needs across service lines, growth platforms, and sectors.
* Manage all event production elements including venue, catering, collateral, virtual platforms, branding, materials, mailings, and registration.
* Collaborate with the wider Markets, Facilities, and Creative teams for efficient event management.
* Develop detailed project plans for major events with effective communication strategies.
* Utilize the firm’s CRM system for event planning and post-event follow-up.
* Innovate and implement best practices for delivering compelling, state-of-the-art events.
* Establish ROI metrics and report on them quarterly and annually.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
* A degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent work experience.
* 10+ years of strategic event management experience, preferably in professional services or large corporations.
* Experience in managing teams within large/matrix organizations.
* Proven ability to lead a professional events team.
* Strong commercial acumen and experience in delivering high-value, ROI-focused events.
* Expertise with virtual event platforms.
* Creative and innovative event planning skills.
* Excellent communication, management, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong organizational and project management abilities.
* Relationship management skills and experience with marketing automation & CRM platforms.
* Negotiation and budget management skills.
