Job Opportunity:
A community-focused Occupational Therapist is sought for a dynamic Primary Care Team in north Tipperary. This role involves delivering high-quality services to adults requiring occupational therapy intervention to enhance their functional abilities and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive assessments and develop personalized care plans to promote functional independence in activities of daily living (ADLs). Provide intervention in areas such as self-care, mobility, housing adaptations, equipment prescription, and falls prevention. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, including Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Public Health Nurses, and GPs. Supervise and support junior staff, students, and Occupational Therapy Assistants, ensuring high standards of practice. Participate in the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives within the Primary Care team.
Requirements:
Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU. A minimum of three years post-qualification experience, with at least one year in a relevant area such as Primary Care, Community, or Rehabilitation. Strong experience in assessment and intervention planning within a community or primary care setting. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues and service users. Experience in mentoring and supervising junior staff or students is desirable. A full driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential. Current residency in Ireland with the legal right to work without restrictions.
