EMPLOYMENT:
Full-time, Temporary
Key Responsibilities
TIG Welding (Method 141): Perform TIG welds on a variety of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, and other alloys, in all welding positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, and ceiling).
Set and adjust welding parameters such as amperage, gas flow, and electrode selection to achieve high-quality welds.
Interpretation of Technical Drawings and Specifications: Reading and interpreting complex technical drawings, welding symbols, and detailed specifications to determine precise welding requirements.
Ensuring that all welds comply with technical specifications and high industry standards for quality and precision.
Quality Control and Inspection: Inspect welds for defects such as cracks, inclusions, incomplete indentation or excess spatter; use correction methods to eliminate quality issues, ensuring that welds meet the required standards for strength, appearance and functionality.
Safety Practices: Compliance with all regulations and best practices for TIG welding, including proper use of PPE, handling of shielding gases, and preventing UV exposure.
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment by following all safety guidelines, using appropriate ventilation systems, and minimizing the risks associated with welding fumes and heat.
Precision and Attention to Detail: Produce clean, precise welds with minimal deformation, with an emphasis on the aesthetics and structural integrity of the welds.
Tailoring welding techniques to specific materials and design requirements, especially for delicate or high-tolerance applications.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that welding equipment is properly maintained and operating at maximum efficiency.
Diagnosing and resolving minor problems with welding equipment and tools.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to ensure welding work aligns with design goals and deadlines.
Clearly communicate welding requirements, project progress, and any issues encountered during the welding process.
Working Conditions
Work in marine environments, including shipyards, offshore platforms, or vessels.
Work in confined spaces, at heights and sometimes in harsh weather or environmental conditions.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including helmets, gloves, safety footwear, eye and hearing protection.
Possible exposure to hazardous materials, heavy equipment and working at height.
Technical Proficiency
Extensive experience in TIG welding (Method 141) of various metals, including aluminum, stainless steel and other alloys.
Ability to work in all positions (flat, vertical, horizontal and ceiling) and with different material thicknesses.
Knowledge of setting welding parameters (current, gas flow, electrode selection) for each material and thickness for precise results.
Certificates
Relevant welding certifications such as ISO ******, AWS D17.1 (for aerospace) or AWS D1.6 (for stainless steel) related to TIG welding.
Additional certifications may be required in specialized industries such as aerospace, nuclear power, or medical.
Certificate of social security legislation applicable to the entitled person.
Experience
2-5 years of hands-on experience in TIG welding, especially in high-precision or critical applications such as aerospace, automotive, or medical.
Proven welding experience with a focus on quality and attention to detail, especially for critical parts and materials.
Security Knowledge
In-depth knowledge of safety protocols in TIG welding, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (helmet, gloves, protective clothing), handling of shielding gases, and measures to prevent exposure to UV radiation.
Ability to identify and minimize welding risks to ensure a safe working environment.
