Description
We are opening a new Service Station at Ennis in autumn/winter 2025. Our core brands include Supermac’s, Papa John’s Pizza, SuperSubs, Mac’s Diner Deli, and our Barista. We are committed to providing world-class food and retail services while maintaining Supermac’s traditional values.
Objective
* Assist the Deli Manager with the daily operation of the hot & cold deli and the on-site fresh food offering.
* Help ensure the delivery of all delicatessen and fresh food targets, including Food Quality, Customer Service, Sales, Costings, Profitability, and Hygiene Standards, through effective management of the delicatessen area and staff.
The Job
Operations - General
* Maintain high-quality, well-presented, and fresh foods in the deli area at all times.
* Participate in recruitment, training, and cross-training of customer-focused staff following company standards.
* Improve delicatessen standards in sourcing, housekeeping, merchandising, and presentation.
* Adapt to market changes, seasonality, and local activity.
* Manage delicatessen promotions with proper costing analysis.
* Handle customer complaints appropriately.
* Implement and record HACCP standards as required.
* Maintain high customer service levels and promote up-selling.
* Assist in achieving food cost targets through staff training and waste control.
* Plan cleaning routines to meet QSC standards.
* Assist with food ordering from approved suppliers.
Finance
* Control and minimize overheads effectively.
* Maximize delicatessen sales and margins.
* Achieve sales targets and promote sales within the delicatessen.
People Management
* Assist in recruiting, training, and developing staff.
* Maintain training records and ensure ongoing staff development.
* Manage staff performance and motivation.
* Ensure hygiene compliance among staff.
* Assist with staff rostering within labor targets.
Food Management
* Ensure HACCP and food safety policies are followed.
* Manage stock control, dating, and rotation.
* Contribute to menu planning and development.
* Maintain stock levels, minimize wastage, and prevent stock loss.
General
Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Deli Manager and Operations Site Manager.
Work Environment
Fast-paced, physically demanding environment requiring teamwork and effective communication.
