Mercury is seeking a skilled Fire Protection Technician to join their Fire Protection division. As a key member of the Sustaining team, you will be responsible for installing various Sprinkler systems and coordinating with the design team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in planning and executing small to medium-sized jobs involving client interfacing. Responsibilities include surveying works, coordinating with the design team, and being flexible to travel around the country.
The successful candidate will also have knowledge in all types of sprinkler systems, be able to work on their own initiative, and possess a full driver's license.
Key skills include:
* Liaising and building relationships with clients
* Competent in draining/refilling sprinkler systems
* Operating fire pumps/related fire alarms
* Planning and working from sprinkler drawings
* Knowledge of LPC and FM sprinkler rules
The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline.
Requirements include:
* Safe Pass/manual handling
* Experienced sprinkler pipefitters
* Flexible to travel
* Ability to work on own initiative
* National Craft Certificate
Desirable criteria include:
* Previous experience in role or willingness
* Able to manage a job to completion/attend white board meetings
* Flexible for outside of normal working hours
* A construction background
