Senior Fire Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Fire Engineer to join our fire engineering consultancy firm in Dublin, with offices across Ireland and the UK. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex construction projects, providing expert fire safety engineering solutions.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of projects, from design through to completion. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop and implement fire safety strategies that meet legal requirements and best practice standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fire Safety Designs: Develop and implement fire safety designs and strategies for construction projects, ensuring compliance with Irish fire safety regulations and international standards.
2. Fire Risk Assessments: Conduct fire risk assessments, safety audits, and simulations to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate solutions.
3. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire safety measures into the overall design and construction process.
4. Documentation: Prepare detailed fire engineering reports, specifications, and documentation to support project approvals and compliance.
5. Client Management: Manage and assist clients with the process of FSC/DAC/BCAR.
6. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to provide expert advice and ensure successful project outcomes.
7. Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and support within the fire engineering team.
8. Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in fire safety engineering, building codes, and industry standards.
Requirements:
1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire engineering, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Familiarity with Regulations: Strong knowledge of Irish fire safety regulations, building codes, and relevant international standards.
4. Design and Assessment Experience: Experience in fire safety design, risk assessment, and fire protection systems for various building types, including commercial, residential, and industrial.
5. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in fire modelling software and tools.
6. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative fire safety solutions.
7. Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
8. Chartered Engineer Status: Chartered Engineer status or working towards it is an advantage.
